FAMILY MINISTRY
Healthy families make a big difference
Westover family ministry is equipping parents to cultivate Christ-centered homes and creating spaces for family connection to flourish.
We do this through the following programs and events:
Family Pods
Youth Group Parent Huddle
Westover Moms
Family Resource Wall
Faith Story Classes (5th, 8th, & 12th Grade)
Family Camp
Trail of Treats
PODS: NOT JUST FOR DOLPHINS AND PEAS ANYMORE
Family Pods are small groups of families that meet monthly on Sunday mornings to cultivate connection and faith together
One Sunday per month // Bible class hour (9:15 - 10:30am) // Westover
Keeping kids fed, clothed, rested, and injury-free can sometimes feel like it takes up all the parenting time you have. As much as you want take the time to intentionally pray and plant seeds of character and faith, sometimes it feels like too much to ask. We created Family Pods to give parents the time and space to “do the home work” together with other families.
If one or more of your children are age 3 or older, Family Pods are for you! Each Pod is made up of 7-8 other families plus a mentor team. Once you join a Family Pod, that’s your crew. Your pod will meet one Sunday morning each month.
Pods give parents tools and time to cultivate faith in their children through lessons, conversations, and principles that families work through together in realtime. It’s sure to become your—and your kids’—favorite day of the month.
Youth Group Parent Huddle is for parents of middle school and high school-aged students to connect, encourage one another and occasionally whine about the highs and lows of parenting teenagers.
Sundays // 5:30 - 7:00pm // Westover room C201
Parent Huddle takes place conveniently during the same time as the Sunday evening youth gatherings! You can join the Huddle any week. No need to sign up in advance or make an ongoing commitment.
A hot cup of coffee and a grown up conversation: get them both at Westover Moms
1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month // 10:00 - 12:00pm // Westover room C203-204 // from September through May
Over yummy breakfast bites and hot coffee, this is your time to socialize with other moms, hear encouraging message from guest speakers, and share tips, gripes, and prayer requests in a small group setting.
Childcare is provided through WestoverKids (downstairs) from 10:00am until 12:30pm.
RSVP appreciated but not required… if you didn’t register, just show up anyway! We have enough coffee to go around.

Faith Story Classes bring parents and teens into the story together
Sunday near the end of the school year during Bible Class (9:15 - 10:30am) // Westover
A wise man* once said, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it.” Faith Story Classes are a time for parents and their kids to pause and reflect during moments of life transition (moving from elementary to middle school, moving from middle to high school, graduating from high school and leaving home).
Faith Story Classes occur in the spring, so keep an eye on the WestoverKids email or the Youth Ministry calendar. It’s a setting to open up dialogue about how this transition impacts your family, your faith, and your relationships.

Family Camp at Mo-Ranch is a time-honored Westover tradition
One weekend in August // Mo-Ranch in Hunt, TX
What makes Family Camp at Mo-Ranch so special? You’ll just have to come and see! This is your chance to get away with your kids and other Westover families to worship together, enjoy pancake breakfasts, beat the heat in the river (don’t forget the slide!), play silly games, and—of course—cheer for the next generation of Westover talent at the fabulous Mo-Ranch talent show.
Take a trick-or-treating adventure on the Trail of Treats
Saturday in October // Westover parking lot
What started as a Covid-era socially-distanced trick-or-treating solution has turned into a favorite annual tradition. Trail of Treats is a themed trick-or-treating path in the Westover parking lot for kids and their parents to enjoy games and fun booths hosted by Westover families. Think carnival-meets-trick-or-treating.
