May 1, 2002 Dear Friends, It seems that the rainy season is now upon us. It is a bit earlier than expected, though very welcome. We thought the first couple of rains may have been flukes. It now seems to be clearly returning to the usual rainy season pattern for the area -- a good heavy rain at least once every several days. Areas that were red dusty landscapes not that many weeks ago are becoming quite green and have field grass over two feet high. This is one of Ghana's major "bread basket" areas, and the farmers are hard at work preparing their fields and planting. One significant concern over the recent unrest was that farming, and therefore the nation's food supply, would be disrupted. Things seem very peaceful now. Please pray that the rains and the peace will continue and that we may see a bountiful harvest, both agriculturally and spiritually, in the coming months.. In the service of Our King,
