Dec. 09, 2000 Dear Friends, We hope and pray that you are all well and are enjoying this special time of year. We are all well and are enjoying Christmas music and other of our western seasonal traditions. Ghana has just had presidential and parliamentary elections last week, and it appears all is moving along smoothly and peacefully. Results should be tabulated and the new president-elect should be announced early this coming week, but then again you never know, sometimes these things take longer. All seems to be going well, but continue to pray for a peaceful transition of leaders; it is not always so easy in this part of the world. Bible distribution still seems to be gaining momentum. Almost 200 were distributed last Saturday, along with WBS lessons. At our Friday night prayer meeting one of our Ghanaian brothers pointed out that the rumor had begun that all the young people in Yendi, a predominantly Muslim community, were becoming Christians, because so many of them were carrying Bibles. His prayer request was that this rumor might become reality. We ask that you pray for this as well. The eagerness with which they are coming for the Bibles is a great encouragement. Included is a photo of the group that gathered last Saturday and one of the evangelists who helped with the distribution. In the Service of the King, |
