Sep. 23, 2000 Dear Friends, Thanks so much for your prayers. We praise God that the prayers for snake antivenin have been answered. We now have a good supply that should last at least several months (well through the farming season). Continue to pray for our work with the Primary Health Care Workers course. This week will be the final scheduled week and Linda and I will be teaching all week. It now appears likely that a few supplemental weeks may need to be scheduled for this class later in the fall. Pray both that the students learn what they need to make a difference in their villages and that we learn what we need to make this program effective. We plan to offer at least two such courses next year. Pray also that our communication lines may be improved. Most of the telephones in Yendi have not been working for several weeks. Our email server has been having trouble as well so when we do find a functional phone line we are often further frustrated. We were able to talk to the Regional Telecom manager yesterday and he seemed optimistic about getting things moving on phone lines to our area of Yendi. The area (via our coworkers) has been waiting for lines for around two years. Please pray that this long wait may soon be over. It would greatly improve our efficiency and decrease our frustrations to have phone and more importantly email access at our house. In the service of the King, |
