Dear friends, I love raising my children in PNG! My two girls have very different personalities, but I feel this country has something special for both of them. Hannah, now 3 1/2 years old, is a socialite, and loves the fact that there is a friend to play with on every corner and under every tree. Her friendly nature and room full of toys are a great help for us in our mission work. When we have people with children over for meals or Bible studies, we can always count on her to be an excellent hostess. She's also our little lady, who loves to wear dresses, play with dolls, and do my hair. Hadassah, on the other hand, is all adventure. She started walking when she was 10 months old, and before long she was climbing on chairs, tables, beds, and anything else she could find. She never wants to sit down, not even in the bathtub. She loves living on the edge. PNG has a lot to offer a little girl like Hadassah, as you can see from the second photo from a recent boatride. Don't worry, on the ride back, I insisted she put on a life jacket! I really enjoy the gradual blossoming of each distinct personality, and as you can imagine, the process of guiding them into God's plan for their lives brings me to my knees quite often! I'm sure He uses our work and environment to mold them in ways I can't even imagine. "Oh the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God!" (Romans 11:33a, NIV) Love, Diane (with Marcus, Hannah and Hadassah)
