A Campus Ministry of the Churches of Christ

3rd July, 2003

Four Recent Baptisms

It is always a joy to share with our readers about our new brothers and sisters in Christ. Tum, baptized on May 3, is a natural leader. It seems he knows everyone on the CMU campus. He's gifted in people skills and has a smile that is infectious. Eddie is an acheiver. Even with a bad spinal problem, he has joined us on two river rafting trips and two difficult mountain treks. He also introduced his friend Tahn to Christ. After many months of study, both were baptized June 13.

Tahn's desire to know the Lord spurred on Eddie to surrender his life to the Lord. Recently she began to have an evangelistic study with another one of her friends.

We have know Little, baptized June 17, for almost 2 years. But she didn't start seeking the Lord until 8 months ago. Now she is also having evangelistic studies with one of her friends. - Robert Reagan.

The Two
Tunics Project

On the first Sunday of every month the congregation has a community service project.
We recently gathered clothes and food for some of the poorer Christians. We collected more than they needed, and they were able to share with their non-Christian neighbors.
Such activities are an important part of our budget, our calendar, our church vision statement, and our lives as disciples of Christ.
God cares about more than "saving souls", and He has shown us many ways to demonstrate His love by meeting needs: picking up trash, donating blood, hosting English camps, visiting orphans and the elderly, the blind and the deaf. Helping pay for the schooling of poorer children or medical expenses, marriage and parenting seminars and counseling, debt relief and counseling, helping start businesses, etc.
"The man who has two tunics should share with him who has none, and the one who has food should do the same" Lk. 3:11
- Sean Todd

Summer Interns

This year we have 11 interns. Four of them are Thais who were baptized in our church.

Renovation continues
on Christian Zone Bldg.

The renovation should be finished by mid-August. On Aug. 7 we are going to have a grand opening worship time. Some brethren from Singapore (who helped us purchase the building) are planning to attend.

Our Team Hosts Asian Mission Forum Aug. 2-6

Two years ago our team hosted the Asian Mission Forum here in Chiang Mai.
Now we are coordinating it again, but this year it will be in Bangkok and at the "Bridge over River Kwai". Randy Harris and Jack Reese are the keynote speakers.
Also at this year's AMF we will offer a "Come Before Winter" seminar to encourage and support women in ministry.
We are pleased that many English speaking Asians will also be attending and benefiting from this years AMF and CBW.
