Westover E-News

In order to better communicate and prevent duplication of emails from Westover, a new church-wide listserve has been created for all Westover members. This e-news letter will be only used for announcements: 1) appropriate for the majority of our members and/or are of an urgent nature (i.e. changes due to inclement weather, etc...). If you are subscribed to a specific ministry's email list (i.e. children's ministry or youth), you will continue to receive those emails.

Carol-O-Grams - support our mission trip!

Looking for a present for that hard-to-buy for person? Want to support a mission campaign to Brussels? Get two-in-one! Buy a Carol-O-Gram to send as a present. A choral group of the Westover Singers will sing three songs as a holiday gift from you to your brother, sister, mailman, grandparent, office, etc. All proceeds will help in our mission campaign with Rob Krans in Brussels. If you are interested, please email: Brian Moody at bmoody1121@aol.com or sign up at the table in the foyer.

Family Day / Pot Luck December 30th - Theme: "HOPE"

Westover’s first Family Day will center on the theme of “Hope.”

9:00am - Faith Conversations [Don't miss the video intro to class]
Family Day will begin with a special combined Bible class for all adults, middle school, and high school students called Faith Conversations.  Class will begin right at 9:00 a.m. and it will be very important to be in the Worship Center at 8:55 a.m. so as not to interrupt the class.  Our class will begin with the playing of a video of the song, “My Savior My God” by Aaron Shust in the Worship Center.  Please make sure to be seated (with your family members if you have middle school or high school children) by the conclusion of that video.  We believe it is important to experience this class and this day together as a family unit.  If you are single, we want to encourage you to get with friends who are your family here and experience this day together.

10:20am Worship - theme: “Hope.”
All of our worship time will be centered on the idea of hope.  We again ask everyone to sit together as family units, again encouraging our singles to sit together with their friends.  Family Days will always be a time when we request that families sit together and not have the teens in their regular teen section.

Church-Wide Potluck Lunch
When our worship time is concluded, we want to have a great time and enjoy a meal together.  It has been many years since we’ve had a church-wide lunch, but we’re going to pull it off on Sunday, December 30!  Bring enough food for your family, plus a little extra for visitors.

Since we don’t have enough room in the oven to heat foods up or in the refrigerator to cool them down, we strongly suggest that you bring your food items in an ice chest, separating hot and cold items

We’ll have tables in the foyer we can put them on and after worship is over, we’ll have everything out and ready.  Westover will provide drinks, so don’t worry about that.  We will not do desserts, so it would be a fantastic opportunity to go out with family or friends after lunch to have dessert or coffee together.
