Overview of WLTC

Westover Hills has between 80 and 100 youth participates each year.  The participants meet for practices for weeks leading up to the convention.  The focus of our practice time is to learn how to communicate our theme to audiences of all ages through puppets, drama, singing, signing, speech, art and photography.  Besides developing leadership and team building skills, the youth build deeper friendships with each other and gain a passion for bringing God's message to others, while deepening their own knowledge of Scipture.

The training culminates with a Wednesday night performance for the church and a weekend convention in Dallas on Easter weekend.  The LTC familes caravan to Dallas on Friday morning.  The competition ends Saturday at 7 pm.  Some families return to Austin Saturday evening.  Others stay and attend Sunday morning service at the hotel.

The service Easter morning is lead by participants.   The convention hotel is full of families from all around Texas and neighboring states.  To be in a huge venue full of Christians, singing, signing, preaching, acting out Bibical dramas, displaying Christian art and song leading is like a slice of heaven on earth.
