Marriage Course Sessions

Session 1
Building Strong Foundations

Closeness in marriage must be nurtured. It is essential we find time together and understand each other’s needs. This session causes couples to look at their lifestyle and its effect upon their marriage, and to learn more about each other’s needs and desires.

Session 2
The Art of Communication

Listening is a skill that can and must be learned for a strong marriage. Couples practice communicating their feelings and listening effectively to each other.

Session 3
Resolving Conflict

Problems can strengthen a marriage when a couple tackle them together. Their togetherness is built through expressing their appreciation of each other, recognizing their differences of temperament and learning to negotiate disagreements. The value of praying with and for each other is also addressed.

Session 4
The Power of Forgiveness

Apology and forgiveness are essential to restore trust and intimacy when we have hurt each other. This session helps couples to put this into practice for past and present hurts.

Session 5
Parents and In-Laws

Couples are helped to recognize how their family background affects the way they relate to each other. They also consider how to build a good and healthy relationship with their parents, in-laws and wider family now.

Session 6
Good Sex in Marriage

Sexual intimacy needs to be worked at and developed. Couples are able to communicate about their expectations and disappointments and to recognize where they need to make changes.

Session 7
Love in Action
